Lexir Stock Movement & Fulfilment Timelines
Indicative timelines to help brands plan stock moves, customs clearance, warehouse intake, and order readiness across Lexir markets.
Important note: All timelines in this guide are indicative. Actual timings may vary depending on origin, destination, transport mode, customs requirements, documentation quality, seasonality, and warehouse workload.
1. Process Overview
Typical flow: stock move → customs / excise handling where applicable → warehouse check-in → goods ready for sale or fulfilment.
2. Warehouse Check-In Timelines
Standard timing: goods check-in usually takes 1 to 3 working days from arrival at the warehouse.
In some cases, check-in may take over a week, including where:
• customs requests a physical inspection of the goods at the warehouse
• there is an issue with the bonded movement documents or EMCS
• customs needs to review or approve the customs code of one or more products
• there is an inconsistency in SKU references or quantities received
In short: check-in is usually completed within 1 to 3 days, but may take longer in exceptional cases.
3. Excise Clearance Timelines by Market
Once goods are cleared, orders usually leave the same day or the following working day, depending on order cut-off time.

If customs requests additional details or documents are missing, clearance may take several weeks.
4. Stock Movement Timelines
Cross-EU pallet movements: moving pallets across the EU can take from a few days up to 2 weeks, depending on origin, destination, and transport type.
Full truckload transport: generally faster, as the shipment usually moves directly from origin to destination.
Less-than-truckload (LTL) or shared pallet transport: often takes longer, as the transporter may split the journey into multiple legs before final delivery.
5. Common Causes of Delay
• missing or incomplete shipping or customs documents
• customs requests for additional product or valuation details
• inspection requests by customs authorities
• issues with bonded movement documentation or EMCS
• SKU, barcode, or quantity inconsistencies on arrival
• tax stamp ordering, approval, or application lead times
• peak seasonal warehouse or transport congestion
